Vendors who may find this article useful:
- You want to use different computers to check out projects.
- You want to share one username among several translators/reviewers.
Normally, you will be able to claim a memoQ 4Free license to work on the projects you are assigned to. However, the memoQ 4Free license only allows you to work on one computer instead of multiple ones. For example, if you have checked out the projects from your old computer, when you try to access the projects from your new computer, you may get the following error message:
There’s currently no license to use the function you choose. If you have purchased new products, please update your license.
Solution: If you ever encounter this error or you know that you wanted to work on a different computer, please email the PM who assigned you to the project(s), stating the reason(s) why different computers are needed for accessing the project(s).
If reasonable, the PM will grant you a time-limited translator pro CAL license with multiple copies enabled to allow you to claim your license from different memoQ clients at the same time, so that you will be able to work on the project(s) on different computers or share one username among several people.
Then, you can follow either method below to retrieve your license.
Method one
Click memoQ tab -- Activation Wizard > Next > I wish to configure CAL > next > configure > type in CAL server name > Test
A translator pro license would have been retrieved at this point.
Method Two
Click Activation > Update licenses online(recommended)
Then click CAL tab > configure > type in CAL server name > Test
A translator pro license would have been retrieved at this point.
